Commander Mark Divine. The name says it all. He’s accomplished so much in his lifetime, I hardly know where to start, so I’ll start with how I got to know him. I required a real Navy SEAL to advise me on tactics and to edit the action in my SEAL books. So I queried the owner of NavySEALs.com, and he wrote back, “Call me,” along with his phone number. Don’t you wish it were that easy to get a Navy SEAL on the other end of your phone? Anyway, I called and he graciously offered me his advisory services, which I have used ever since. Had I known at the outset what a truly accomplished and amazing person he is, I might have fallen to my knees in adoration. Here are the highlights of his life:
Mark has a degree in economics from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance. He abandoned the corporate world to become an elite Navy SEAL officer, graduating as honor-man (#1 ranked trainee) of his SEAL BUD/s class number 170. He served nine years of active duty and eleven more as a reserve SEAL, retiring as Commander in 2011. He co-founded the Coronado Brewing Company (CBC) and founded the web e-commerce site www.NavySEALs.com. And then he started writing books about developing mental toughness. Mark self-published Unbeatable Mind in 2011. He is also the author of 8 Weeks to SEALFIT published by St. Martins Press and The Way of the SEAL coming from Readers Digest, to be released December 26, 2013.
Mark is a truly remarkable human being. An accomplished martial artist with black belts in Seido and Goju Ryu Karate, a military hand-to-hand combat certification in SCARS, and senior ranking in Saito Nijutsu. He also teaches Ashtanga Yoga. Want to attend his classes? You’ll have to go to the SEALFIT Training Center in Encinitas, California.
What an amazing man! I am truly grateful for the help that this hero has offered to me personally and to my country.
